AFIA pushes to retain regulatory status for veterinary medical foods

The American Feed Industry Association is pushing the Food and Drug Administration to continue regulating certain veterinary medical foods as food rather than drugs, similar to the way the agency views food supplements meant for human consumption. Animal medical foods are made from food ingredients and used to help manage specific conditions or diseases. Read the AFIA news release.
