App provides daily dose of Civil War history

Civil War Today, a new iPad application from History Channel, delivers daily information about the conflict in a newspaper-like format, including an assortment of documents, features, games, maps and videos. The app is said to have some problems, including a lack of content by black authors, according to this review by journalist Virginia Heffernan. The app will continue to offer a daily dose of Civil War history until April 26, 2015 -- the anniversary of the death of John Wilkes Booth.
