Chesapeake Energy considers permanent cap on Pa. gas well

Chesapeake Energy is studying the prospects of permanently sealing a natural gas well in Pennsylvania that ruptured last week and spilled drilling fluid into local waterways. The company temporarily plugged the well Thursday by combining heavy mud, plastic and pieces of tires. "The well remained in a stable condition, and there continue to be no fluid flows from the well," Chesapeake said Friday.
