Daily activities at home and work burn calories, RD says

Burning calories at home and at the office can be as easy as typing on the computer, getting a good night's sleep and fidgeting while sitting at work, according to registered dietitian Cynthia Sass, author of "Cinch! Conquer Cravings, Drop Pounds and Lose Inches." She says an hour of cooking burns 150 calories, a half-hour of ironing burns 70 calories and even getting a massage can have the same effect as one hour of light weight training.
