Food critic offers industry workers a seat at the Big Table

Food critic Kevin Finch of Spokane, Wash., founded his nonprofit Big Table in 2008 to help restaurant workers struggling with financial troubles and personal problems. Every other month, Big Table hosts a free dinner for 48 workers who are served a gourmet meal, advice and help by their peers. "The dream is to create relationships, and through those relationships, connect with those who need help," said Finch, who hopes to spread the concept to other U.S. markets.
