How 3D printing brings engineering to life for students

More high schools and colleges are taking advantage of 3D-printing technology to help interest students in engineering by bringing to life digital images created by computer-assisted design software that are prototypes of students' designs. "Until then, it's all conceptual, virtual and 2D. Completing the circle is important," said Bruce Weirich, a high-school computer and drafting instructor.
