Minn. city deploys 10,000 sandbags to strengthen river levee

Strong winds eroded a section of the earthen levee along the rising Red River in Oslo, Minn., prompting more than 100 volunteers to place about 10,000 sandbags to reinforce the structure. The erosion did not result in a breach in the levy, but the Army Corps of Engineers and city officials moved to place more sandbags as a precaution.
