Public- and private-sector jobs offer distinct benefits, panelists say

The experience that young lawyers can get working in the public sector can be more valuable than that higher paycheck they'd receive at a private firm, members of a Philadelphia Bar Association panel said. "Right out the box, you start getting cases and a lot of responsibility," said U.S. Attorney Zane Memeger. Panel members recommended lawyers move back and forth between the sectors throughout their careers.
