Avon CEO Sherilyn McCoy has been bequeathed strategic headaches by predecessor Andrea Jung, says management professor Lawrence Hrebiniak. On Jung's watch, Avon moved away from its direct-sales roots without investing heavily enough to forge a viable retail empire. "Jung really created strategic uncertainty for the company. It's still in the position of deciding what it wants to be when it grows up," Hrebiniak says.
