Dental group says Medicaid cuts won't save money in Ill.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn's proposal to eliminate Medicaid dental coverage for adults will simply shift costs as patients turn to hospital emergency departments for needed care, Illinois State Dental Society President Greg Johnson says. "The patients are going to get maybe pain medication, maybe some antibiotics. But you don’t treat the condition; you cover it up for a while," Johnson said.
