Feds seek to boost technical-career training

The U.S. Education Department wants Congress to reauthorize the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act to help deal with the shortage of IT skills. "I think this is an industry that is demanding this," Education Secretary Arne Duncan said. "We have at least 2 million high-wage, high-skill jobs that we can't fill in this country."
