Green roofs could help urban areas save on energy use, says study

Installation of green roofs and other sustainable infrastructure could help urban areas save on energy costs in the long run, according to a study by the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Rivers, the Water Environment Federation, and ECONorthwest. Green roofs can also reduce heat inside buildings during summer and cut indoor energy use by almost 10% every year.
