Marines to move women into combat roles

The Marine Corps has released more details about how it plans to introduce women into active combat units. In addition to admitting women to the Infantry Officers Course this spring, the Marine Corps will begin integrating women into battalions traditionally been reserved for men. Infantry battalions, however, will remain closed to women, said Gen. James F. Amos, the Marine Corps commandant.
