Mich. schools to promote nutrition through gardening

Detroit schools plan to use a federal grant through the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 to fund a Garden Collaborative, which will provide garden-based education at 45 schools. Participating schools also will have greater access to fresh fruits and vegetables for their meals. Each garden site will include a Farm to School Learning Center.
