Short place names, from Å to Y

There are a surprising number of one-letter place names, such as the Norwegian village called Å and the French hamlet of Y. Short place names aren't an exclusively Old World phenomenon, either: Oregon is home to the river D, which at 440 feet long was once recognized as the shortest waterway in the world.
