Will slumping Wii sales force Nintendo to make some hard choices?

Nintendo most recently forecast that it would sell 10 million Wii consoles in the fiscal year ended in March, which is down from a forecast of 13 million the company made a year ago. The company faces increasing competition from Apple, as well as new products from traditional rival Sony, as it prepares to launch its Wii U later this year, this analysis notes, which points to a possible need to trim its hardware focus and rely more heavily on its software titles.
