26 lawmakers sign letter to Obama regarding VA backlog

Twenty-six lawmakers who are military veterans sent a letter to President Barack Obama this week asking him to take a more prominent role in addressing the claims backlog at the Department of Veterans Affairs. "It is important for you -- as Commander in Chief -- to publicly acknowledge the problems within the VA and the necessity for reforms and leadership that are capable of alleviating the claims backlog and improving the benefit delivery system," the letter said.
