Analysts note weakness in South Korean economy

Noting a particularly weak domestic component in the latest South Korean growth figures, analysts are projecting only tepid gains at least through the first half of the year. In addition, "Korea's export recovery is unlikely to be sustained," said Gareth Leather, an economist at Capital Economics. "Growth in the U.S., eurozone and China, which are all important markets for Korea, is expected to be weak over the next year."
