Company highlights upset recovery training

Aviation Performance Solutions is using one of its graduates as an example of how upset prevention and recovery skills can be used to save an aircraft and prevent loss of life. According to the company, the pilot of a C-12 -- the Army's equivalent of the Beech King Air 200 -- encountered severe clear ice during a training mission, which caused the aircraft to shudder while flying at 6,000 feet. "You have to aggressively and correctly reduce angle of attack in a stall or you may not recover," the pilot said.
