Mich. city council approves bus route for impoverished wards

The Jackson, Mich., City Council has voted unanimously to use $7,000 from a community block grant for a bus route that will run every Sunday from impoverished wards to an ALDI grocery. The city will also use some of the funding to purchase more than 700 bus passes, which will be given to residents in the wards to encourage them to use the bus route, instead of relying on gas stations and convenience stores.
