Senate set to vote on online sales tax bill May 6

The Senate voted 63-30 on Thursday to end debate on the Marketplace Fairness Act and to vote on the bill May 6, after Senators return from recess. If the Senate approves the measure, which would allow states to require online retailers to collect sales tax on purchases by in-state buyers, it may face a tougher battle in the House where some see the measure as a tax increase.
