DARPA project aims at feeling prosthetics

DARPA is looking to bring a sort of life to prosthetics by providing users an internal sense of the presence and movement of the devices themselves. The Hand Proprioception and Touch Interfaces program's focus is proprioception, the ability to move limbs with confidence even without seeing them. It would be achieved through implanted sensors linked to modules in the prosthetic, according to this article.
