Statin users increase fat, calorie intake, study says

Government health-survey data spanning 10 years show that statin drug users increased calorie and fat intakes over time while nonusers did not, researchers wrote in JAMA Internal Medicine. Journal editor Dr. Rita Redberg said the study raises concerns because it suggests people may believe "statins can compensate for poor dietary choices and sedentary life."
