STEM Conference: Mitigating student attrition

Stats aren't good for college students majoring in STEM-related programs. Less than 40% of those who enter the program stay with it, and of those who do stay, only 25% graduate, according to studies. However, a panel at the U.S. News STEM Solutions conference has some recommendations to mitigate the problem, including mentoring and more experiential learning, and creating partnerships with other schools and industry.
