Tips for appreciating what teachers do and why they do it

Everyone understands what a teacher does -- or at least they think they do -- writes teacher Mary Beth Hertz. In this blog post, she writes that when she describes what she does for a living, she rarely is asked any questions about what she does or why she does it. "The best way to appreciate a teacher is to appreciate the hard work that they do and their high level of expertise by allowing them to share the positive and professional aspects of their career," she writes.
