The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's plans to drop binding early decision admissions could spark debate in university circles about the validity of the practice, reports say. Chancellor James Moeser says he was concerned that early decision could put minority and less affluent students at a disadvantage. Some guidance counselors and university brass reportedly applauded the move.
