Texas district purchases textbook-loaded laptops

This August, every fifth- and sixth-grader at Johnson Elementary School will get a $1,350 ThinkPad loaded with digital textbooks and 2,000 works of literature. IBM, currently fifth in the educational technology market, hopes adding content will reinvigorate school laptop sales and give the company a leg up on its competition.
