Creative building solution solves problem of 15-story "view-blocker"

Designers overcame a 15-story view-blocking building with an unorthodox plan for a 52-story office tower in Chicago. The offending building would have greatly impacted lower-level office rents for the $275 million tower by blocking the view of Lake Michigan. Designers solved the problem by building a two-story tall lobby, topped by a nine-level parking structure -- and then the 38 stories of office floors.
