Study: Plavix plus aspirin helps reduce stroke-threatening clots

Adding Plavix to a dose of aspirin enhances the drug's ability to reduce formation of tiny blood clots, typically a warning sign of a potential stroke, in people with a high risk of stroke, according to a study in the journal Circulation. The trial combining Plavix, made by Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb, with common aspirin was conducted to show that "by treating these patients more aggressively, we can prevent strokes," the lead author of the study said.
