EPA emissions decision may have big effect on chemical industry

The EPA's preliminary determination that greenhouse-gas emissions pose a threat to human health may lead to requirements that chemical facilities install expensive controls to reduce those emissions; one expert said the EPA's action is "very ominous for the chemical industry." The finding, if it is made final, would affect chemical facilities emitting more than 250 metric tons of a regulated pollutant per year.
