Official: England's students will be taught proper Englsih

A former head of England's Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills says that pupils should be taught formal English and the proper settings in which to use it. Curricula for England's primary-school students will be altered to include lessons in proper English in response to reports that students are lagging in English proficiency and are suffering from "word poverty."
