Green architecture takes root in Haiti

Aid workers are spearheading a sustainable-construction drive as they seek to rebuild Port-au-Prince, the earthquake-stricken Haitian capital. The aim is to create buildings that are earthquake-resistant and eco-friendly, using recycled materials and solar and wind technologies. "People in Haiti want to see progress," says Architecture for Humanity's Frederika Zipp. "This is a moment of opportunity."
