Homeland Security project to create 16,000 building jobs

The largest federal construction project since the building of the Pentagon in the 1940s is creating huge opportunities for the construction sector in the Washington, D.C., area. The $3.4 billion Department of Homeland Security St. Elizabeths project, which will integrate far-flung agencies into one "mini-city," is expected to provide 16,000 construction jobs through at least 100 contractors.
