Meeting of Senate panel highlights e-care

At a recent hearing of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, experts said that despite the emergence of many e-care technologies, remote health monitoring will not be widely adopted unless affordable broadband services are expanded and changes are made to the payment system. E-care technologies will lead to health savings in Medicare and should be a priority of the CMS, added Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.
