Nevada safety officials promise action on OSHA findings

Nevada safety officials plan to address the recommendations in a U.S. Department of Labor report that details construction safety violations in the state. Nevada's construction boom -- particularly in Las Vegas -- amounted to nearly $30 billion in construction and was accompanied by a high turnover among inspectors. A federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration oversight committee found willful violations of OSHA standards, unreasonably low fines and failure to cite repeat violations, among other issues.
