Economists are still unsure whether the U.S. economic recovery is fragile or picking up steam, but data are almost daily showing hope for a vigorous comeback. Behind it all, consumer spending is finally picking up, energizing the entire supply chain, experts said. "Consumers are showing extraordinary resilience," said Bernard Baumohl, chief global economist at the Economic Outlook Group. "There's a lot of pent-up demand out there that is now being unleashed."
