Study describes benefits of head-up cockpit displays

More than one-third of major plane crashes in recent years could have been prevented or alleviated with head-up technology that displays crucial information on the cockpit windshield, according to a study from the Flight Safety Foundation. The study claims that such technology allows pilots to better maintain their focus by eliminating the need to glance down to check airspeed, altitude and other key data.
