G-20 looks into agencies that report oil prices

The Group of 20 is voicing concern about commodity speculation and is investigating Platts and Argus Media, which report oil prices and play a leading role in how the commodity is priced worldwide. The International Organization of Securities Commissions said in a G-20 update that it will look into the "representativeness of the data provided by price reporting agencies" as well as "governance and conflict of interest management at price reporters."
