Odum: Irresponsible delays are hampering Shell's drilling plans

"Irresponsible" regulatory delays are blocking Royal Dutch Shell's offshore-drilling plans in Alaska despite "intense efforts" and investment, said Marvin Odum, president of Shell Oil, the company's U.S. unit. Getting an air permit from the Environmental Protection Agency has been the biggest hindrance, he added. "The delay is frustrating and disappointing, and it undermines confidence in the American regulatory system," Odum said.
