Agencies partner to eliminate disability claims backlog

The Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Archives and Records Administration are collaborating to eliminate the VA's backlog of disability claims in three years and ensure the accurate processing of at least 98% of new claims. The initiative will use the high-quality, high-speed scanners of the archive agency to support the digitization of the paper records used by the Veterans Benefits Administration in making decisions.
