Clearwire names first LTE markets for 2013 launch

Clearwire will serve parts of 31 cities with a TDD-Long-Term Evolution network by mid-2013, with plans to launch in areas of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco, the wireless network provider disclosed Thursday. Clearwire shares gained after the company reported a narrower loss than expected on a 36% increase in revenue and a subscriber total of 11 million, which is up from 6.1 million a year ago. The company cited payments from partner Sprint Nextel for much of the improvement as Clearwire reported a positive net cash flow for the first time.
