Early menopause is tied to osteoporosis, fractures, death

Women whose menopause started before age 47 were at greater risk of osteoporosis, bone fracture and premature death than those with later onset, a Swedish study found. The findings, based on data from 390 white, north European women, appear in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
