Little-known Colo. firm challenges industry giants with patent claim

A small Colorado-based company has filed a federal lawsuit against 15 vendors -- including industry giants Apple, Google and Microsoft -- on grounds that they infringed on its patent covering voice command technology. The suit by Potter Voice Technologies targets speech recognition applications such as Apple's Siri and Google Voice Commands on claims that the technology they use was patented by its founder, Jerry Potter, in 1998.
