Nasdaq OMX declares first dividend as quarterly profit drops

Nasdaq OMX reported an 18% drop in first-quarter profit, but said it will pay a dividend of 13 cents per share. The exchange operator also plans to implement a cost-cutting program as volume remains low. "If volumes continue to be weak, we will continue to focus on the things we can control, most importantly costs," Nasdaq CEO Bob Greifeld said.
