Stopping anticoagulants can harm A-fib patients, study finds

Patients with atrial fibrillation who discontinued anticoagulant treatment were at greater risk for strokes and blood clots, according to a study from researchers at Duke University and the University of California, Los Angeles. The risk was similar for those taking either warfarin or rivaroxaban. The findings were presented during an American Heart Association webinar.
