Why you should hire developers with an open source passion

Smart IT hiring managers will choose software developers with open source expertise over those without, says Forrester Research. According to Forrester's Kyle McNabb, firms need to focus more attention on the importance of software development, and experience in open source is a good sign a coder is staying ahead of the curve. "When looking at your talent, ask software developers if they work with open source. Even if it is outside their work, they're probably keeping their skills set up," said McNabb.
