Government asks Supreme Court to rule on recess appointments

The U.S. government has requested that the Supreme Court resolve a dispute over the constitutionality of President Barack Obama's recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board. Previously, a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit determined that the appointments were invalid. The panel's decision could cause "a significant disruption" for the government, according to Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Jr.
