Senate passes bill to halt air-traffic controllers' furloughs

Responding to public anger about long delays at major airports, the Senate adopted a bill giving the U.S. Department of Transportation flexibility to transfer money between several accounts so furloughed air-traffic controllers could be brought back to work. The House is expected to vote on the measure Friday. If the bill passes, controllers would return to work as early as Saturday.
