Spitzer says Nextel should pay more for spectrum

New York state Attorney General Eliot L. Spitzer said the FCC should require Nextel to pay significantly more than the $850 million it has offered for the spectrum it is trying to acquire in the 1.9 gigahertz range. Verizon Wireless has offered to pay at least $5 billion for the spectrum in an auction.
