Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine and its recent spin-off cookbook, "Great Food Fast," offer recipes for meals that are nutritious and fresh, but use few ingredients so they can be prepared quickly. The test kitchen cooks say that the most essential tools for preparing quick meals are a sharp chef's knife, a large cutting board, a rimmed baking sheet, a cast-iron skillet and tongs.
